We continue to offer two medical and prescription drug options in 2023, both through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM):
Both medical options are PPOs. A PPO option offers the freedom to see any provider when you need care. When you use providers from within the PPO network, you receive benefits at the discounted network cost. Most expenses, such as office visits, emergency room and prescription drugs are covered by a copay. Other expenses are subject to a deductible and coinsurance.
A comparison of the options is below:
The differences in the prescription drug costs are summarized here:
In addition, if you need a specialty medication, you can contact AllianceRx Walgreens Prime, which will support you with:
Both medical benefit options allow you to see a provider virtually from your mobile device or your computer. You can use virtual visits when you have a non-emergency condition and:

If you enroll in the PPO HSA 2000 plan, the Health Savings Account (HSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible expenses. By contributing to a HSA you reduce your taxable income, so you pay less in taxes — which saves you money. In addition, Airboss will contribute to your HSA.
To be eligible to contribute towards an HSA tax-free, you must meet the requirements below:

You have the ability to contribute to a Health Care Flexible Spending Account and a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account that allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible expenses. By contributing to either of the FSAs, you reduce your taxable income, so you pay less in taxes — which saves you money. In order to participate in the FSA, you must enroll during this open enrollment period.
The election you make during enrollment is your election for the entire plan year. You may change it only if you have a Qualifying Life Event and the change request must be consistent with the event. Both the Health Care FSA and the Dependent Care FSA have a ninety (90) day runout period. This means that you have until March 31, 2024 to submit eligible expenses for reimbursement.
Health Care FSA
The maximum amount you can contribute to the Health Care FSA is $3,050. If you do not use all of your Health Care FSA dollars during the calendar year, you can roll over up to $550 to the next calendar year. In general, all eligible health care expenses can be reimbursed. However, if you are enrolled in the PPO HSA medical option, you will be enrolled in a Limited Purpose FSA, which only reimburses for eligible dental and vision expenses.
You can contribute up to $5,000 annually, $2,500 if you are married and file separate tax returns. Reimbursements are allowed for care for certain dependent children and for a spouse, parent or grandparent that is incapable for caring for themselves. Any unused funds do not rollover to the next year.
