Welcome to your 2023 Safe Harbor Benefits

Helping you and your family reach and maintain good health is very important to Safe Harbor Insurance. We are pleased to offer a selection of benefits designed with your health and wellbeing in mind. We review our benefit programs each year to ensure we consider the best combination of benefit coverage, network access and affordability for employees.


Eligibility

Regular employees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible to participate in benefits offered by Safe Harbor Insurance. When you enroll in the benefits program, you may also cover your eligible dependents. Dependents include your legal spouse and child(ren) up to age 26.

401(k) Plan

Safe Harbor Insurance Agency encourages employees to save for their retirement and provides a company-sponsored 401(k) plan. The 401(k) plan offers a company-matching contribution to help employees with their retirement savings. Safe Harbor Insurance Agency matches 100% of the first 3% deferred by employees and 50% of the next 2% deferred. The entry date is the first of the month after 90 days of service for deferral and matching contributions, and 1 year of service for profit-sharing contributions. All participants contributing less than 4% will automatically increase each year by 1% until the 6% cap is met. Employees can opt out if they choose not to be part of the Step-Up program. 


If you are currently enrolled in the 401(k) Plan and would like to change your contribution percentage or investment options, you can log onto the website below or call 440-985-1141. 


As a reminder, the Company’s contributions are deposited into your account each pay period and employees are ___% vested immediately. For 2023, you may contribute up to $22,500 for the calendar year. If you are over age 50, you can contribute an additional contribution known as a “catch-up” contribution up to $7,500 for the current calendar year. 


Roth(k) Plan

Safe Harbor Insurance Agency has a Roth(k) option. Roth(k) is an optional feature that allows you to make after-tax contributions in addition to, or instead of, pre-tax contributions. As long as you stay within the plan’s limits, you may make either 401(k) pre-tax contributions or Roth(k) after-tax contributions or a combination of both. All your contributions are treated the same relative to other plan provisions, such as employer match, loan availability, and hardship withdrawals.
