Specialty Telecommunication Services (STS) is dedicated to providing an affordable and competitive benefit program that promotes good health for employees and their families. Every year, we evaluate and update our benefit programs to ensure that we offer the best combination of coverage, network access, and affordability to our employees.
Open Enrollment begins November 7, 2024 and closes November 18, 2024. You must complete and sign an enrollment form by November 28, even if you are waiving coverage.
We recommend going through the STS 2024 Open Enrollment Employee Benefits Guide and watch the 20-minute Benefit Presentation to obtain detailed information about all the benefits available to you. Additionally, you can refer to the Tri-Fold document for a brief summary overview of the benefits.
If you wish to make any changes during open enrollment, please complete the paper form available in this section and submit it to Chanda by November 28, 2024. This is a PASSIVE enrollment, meaning you do not need to submit anything if you want to maintain your current benefits.
The Benefit choices you make during your initial enrollment or annual open enrollment remain in effect for the entire year.
You can, however, modify your elections under certain circumstances, called "Qualifying Events" These are events such as marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, loss of eligibility under another plan. If you experience a qualifying event, you may make changes to your benefits within 30 days of the event or 60 days if the event is due to birth or adoption of a child.

Blue Cross and Blue shield will administer your medical and prescription drug benefits this year. Due to our continued desire to improve your total benefits package, we have maintained your medical plan from Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Specialty Telecommunication Service's dental plan provides comprehensive coverage to help you and your family maintain good dental health. Providers are part of the Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier Network, or you may see an out-of-network dentist of your choice. Be aware if you go out-of-network, your costs will be higher.

Specialty Telecommunication Service's vision plan provides comprehensive coverage to help you and your family maintain good vision health. Providers are part of the VSP Signature Network, or you may see an out-of-network vision provider of your choice. If you go out-of-network, your out-of-pocket costs will be greater, as benefits for out-of-network service are lesser than in-network benefits.

STS offers Basic & Voluntary Life/AD&D coverage through Dearborn National.
Basic Life/AD&D (100% Employer Paid Benefit)
Employees are eligible for $50,000 of coverage payable to your designated beneficiary in the event of your death. An additional accidental death & dismemberment benefit (AD&D) is payable to you in the event of a covered dismemberment or to your beneficiary if your death is the result of an accident.
Voluntary Life/AD&D (Employee Paid)
A sudden accident or death can leave you or your loved ones in a vulnerable position. Employees have the opportunity to enroll in Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance which will supplement lost income in the event of an accident or death. If you choose to enroll in employee coverage, this will be in addition to your employer provided Basic Life coverage.
Who's Your Beneficiary? Naming a beneficiary is a crucial part of electing life insurance. Also, don't forget to update your primary or secondary beneficiary if you experience a life event, such as a divorce or birth of a child.
