Welcome

Caring People Alliance strives to offer employees an array of benefit options to fit a variety of employee needs. Open enrollment is the time to review the benefits and make any changes for the coming plan year (9/1/2021 to 8/31/2022).

Please read this overview carefully as it contains the actions you need to take during open enrollment. All benefit elections made during open enrollment will be effective on September 1, 2021.

Benefits Overview

MEDICAL BENEFITS

Caring People Alliance will be increasing their contribution towards premiums! Regardless of your plan selection, you will see a decrease in your payroll deductions for the new plan year.

We are moving to medical plans on IBC’s new platform, which will give members access to many valued added benefits. These enhancements include virtual visits at $0 copay, and an additional way to earn $150 in rewards. These new features will be reviewed during the Open Enrollment webinars, and are highlighted in the Benefits Guidebook.

NEW! Caring People Alliance is adding a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This plan will assist HDHP members with paying the deductible as outlined below:

You will automatically be enrolled in the HRA if you select the HDHP $4,000 with HRA plan.

SHORT TERM DISABILITY BENEFIT

NEW! Caring People Alliance is adding a new, company paid Short Term Disability plan! This coverage will provide benefits after 7 days of disability (or after you use our accrued sick time), and will pay you 60% of your covered earnings. All benefit eligible employees will be enrolled in this coverage effective September 1. For those that are participating in the Voluntary Short Term Disability, this coverage will be terminated on September 1st.

SUPPLEMENTAL VOLUNTARY BENEFITS

The supplemental voluntary benefits offered through Unum will move from the Individual platform to a Group platform. This means that elections can now be made on ADP, instead of having to go through an enroller to review benefits.

The following benefits are available:

•  Accident Insurance

•  Hospital Insurance

•  Critical Illness Insurance

If you are currently enrolled in any of these benefits on the Individual Platform, you can continue coverage by electing one of the new plans on the Group Platform via ADP. The Group plans offer new features and expanded coverage.

If you are currently enrolled in Whole Life through the Individual Platform, you will be able to convert that coverage on a direct-bill basis at the same cost.

DENTAL AND VISION BENEFITS

No changes to plan design or contributions.

BASIC LIFE / AD&D, LONG TERM DISABILITY, VOLUNTARY LIFE / AD&D BENEFITS

There are no changes to these benefits, and the cost for Voluntary Life/AD&D will remain the same.

If you are currently enrolled in Voluntary Life:

•  you will only see a change in your payroll contribution if you moved into a new age bracket during the plan year (i.e. from 25-29, 40-44, etc.).

•  you can increase coverage for you and/or your spouse by up to two increments (up to the guaranteed issue amounts of $100,000 for you and $25,000 for your spouse) without evidence of insurability.

If you previously waived this coverage when you were first eligible and choose to enroll in Voluntary Life during open enrollment, you will need to complete an Evidence of Insurability form.

If you are a new hire, Evidence of Insurability is not required if your election is not above the guaranteed issue amount of $100,000 for you and $25,000 for your spouse.

PET INSURANCE BENEFIT

Caring People Alliance will continue to offer Pet Insurance at a discounted rate.

What Do I Need To Do During Open Enrollment?

This year it will be an ACTIVE ENROLLMENT. You must log onto ADP to elect benefits. If you do not complete this process by August 13 you will not have any coverage for the new plan year.

Remember: If you elect Voluntary Life above the guarantee issue for yourself or your spouse, you will need to complete a Evidence of Insurability form (EOI).

How Will I Enroll In Benefits?

Log into ADP self-service site to elect your benefits. Click on the link below in the blue box to enroll in your benefits.

Remember, Pet Insurance does not appear on ADP. Please contact Nationwide directly to enroll (instructions are in the Guidebook).

Annual Open Enrollment begins on August 2, 2021 and ends August 13, 2021
