COBRA Open Enrollment is you time to make changes to your existing coverages for the coming plan year. You can make add/drop coverage, change plans, as well as add or remove dependents you are covering. COBRA Open Enrollment will run from November 23rd - December 14th.
Benefits will be effective January 1, 2021. Benefits will default to your current elections should no action be taken.
What is COBRA?
COBRA is a continuation of plan coverage when it would otherwise end because of a “qualifying event.” After a qualifying event, COBRA continuation coverage is offered to each person who is a “qualified beneficiary.” You, your spouse, and your dependent children could become qualified beneficiaries if coverage under the plan is lost because of the qualifying event. Once you are eligible, you may elect to continue your existing coverages for you and your dependents, and will be responsible for paying the corresponding premium. Once a year, you will be eligible to participate in annual COBRA open enrollment to make changes you your plans and add or drop dependents.
Please review the General Notice of COBRA Rights for information on continuation of coverage, and the Benefits Guide to learn more about the available benefits offerings, when the time comes for Open Enrollment.
