Welcome

Helping you and your family reach and maintain good health is very important to James Irwin Charter School. We are pleased to offer a selection of benefits designed with your health and financial well-being in mind. We review our benefit programs each year to ensure we consider the best combination of benefit coverage, network access and affordability for employees. Annual open enrollment is your opportunity to learn about the 2025 Benefits Program, however, you can review your current coverage at any time throughout the year.

  • View your Benefits Overview
  • Watch the Educational Videos and view the Additional Resources to learn more about your benefits program.

The complete benefits package is briefly summarized on this enrollment site and in your Benefit Guide. Please review it carefully to select the coverage that best suits your personal situation. If there is any discrepancy between the insurance carrier's certificate of coverage/plan document and this guide, the insurance carrier's certificate of coverage/plan document takes precedence.

Open Enrollment

We are now in the 4th quarter of 2024, which means it's time to review your benefits package and make elections for the 2025 plan year.

Open Enrollment will start Monday, November 4th and will run through Friday, November 15th.

This is a passive open enrollment session, meaning your core benefits will rollover. However, your HSA elections must be annually elected as these elections will not rollover from plan year to plan year. Please be sure to log into Ease to elect your HSA elections for the 2025 plan year.

During Open Enrollment, you may enroll in or make changes to your benefit programs. Open Enrollment is the only period during which you can add or change benefits unless you have a qualifying life event. Be sure to understand the offerings and enroll yourself and your eligible dependents in the programs you desire for the upcoming plan year. Annual deductibles and/or out-of-pocket maximums operate on a calendar year basis (from January through December).

We encourage all employees to login to Ease to confirm benefits for 2025 to ensure they are as you intend them to be for you and any dependents.

HSA

The Health Savings Account is a cost savings tool that can assist with paying for qualified out-of-pocket medical costs. The HSA account is owned by you, the employee. Monies can be contributed up the annual maximum contribution set by the IRS every year. If you do not spend all of those funds during the calendar year, those funds will carry over into the next year. You own and control the money in your HSA. This is intended to be a savings account so the more money you put in, the more money you’ll have available to pay for qualified out-of-pocket health care expenses. If you change jobs or retire, your HSA balance goes with you. You must be covered by a Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP) to be able to contribute to an HSA.

JICS will no longer be contributing to the Optum HSA account and will be making contributions to employees via the HSA established with Rocky Mountain Reserve (RMR). Individuals can continue to utilize and contribute to the Optum account for your own contributions and JICS will not be closing out these accounts. If you would like to close your Optum account and transfer funds to the RMR account, please complete the transfer form below.

James Irwin provides the following HSA contributions for employees enrolled in the QHDHP plan with an HSA:

• HSA $4k Plan: $50 / month for employee only and $75 / month for all other tiers

• HSA $5k Plan: $100 / month for employee only and $125 / month for all other tiers

In 2025, the maximum annual contribution for single enrollee set by the IRS is $4,300 and maximum family contribution is $8,550. A catch-up contribution, up to an additional $1,000, is allowed for individuals who are 55 years or older.

If you have any questions please contact Rocky Mountain Reserve at 888.722.1223.

Dental

Your dental plan is provided Delta Dental of Colorado. Delta Dental offers two (2) provider networks to select from, PPO and Premier. We encourage you to initially see if the dentist participates in the PPO network as this will lower the cost paid out of pocket when using an in-network PPO dentist for services. PPO dentists provide greater network discounts than the Premier plan. If the dentist isn’t in the PPO network, check to see if they participate in the Premier network. Premier dentists provide a lesser network discount, but at a lesser cost than going 100% outside of the Delta Dental network.
