At the University of Evansville, we recognize our ultimate success depends on our talented and dedicated faculty and staff. We appreciate the contribution each employee makes and our goal is to provide best in class benefits to attract and retain the best employees. Through our benefits program we strive to support the needs of our employees and their dependents by providing a benefits package that is easy to understand, easy to access and affordable for all our employees.
The University of Evansville offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees. For purposes of this summary of benefits, benefit eligibility shall be defined as staff and administrators working, on average, at least thirty (30) hours per week or faculty under contract (including regular and visiting faculty members) who are not on pro rata or part-time employment. Certain benefits do have different eligibility periods. If you have questions about these benefits, please contact the Office of Human Resources.
Coverage is available for the employee and dependent family members. Depending on claims experience, the University of Evansville pays for approximately 75% of the health insurance plan cost. Benefit eligible employees may enroll in the University health insurance plan on the 1st of the month concurrent with or following employment. If you do not enroll for coverage within 31 days of becoming eligible, or you discontinue coverage, you may not obtain coverage unless you meet the Plan’s definition of a late applicant (open enrollment, change in family status, etc.).
The health insurance program available to employees is through Auxiant. The University deducts health insurance premiums on a pre-tax basis and current rates are:
