Benefits Overview

Medical and Prescription Drug – United HealthCare (UHC):

  • Your medical and Rx carrier will be remain with UHC
  • There will be some minor changes to the four plan options through UHC
  • For more information, please review the Open Enrollment Recorded Presentation
  • Your medical plan deductibles and out of pocket maximum will reset May 1st

 Dental – United Healthcare (UHC):

  • No changes to plan designs
  • Your dental deductibles and plan maximums will reset January 1st

 Vision – VBA:

  • No changes to plan designs

 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) – The Harrison Group:

  • The annual maximums for 2021 will remain the same:
  • Healthcare FSA at $2,750 
  • Dependent Care FSA at $5,000
  • You can roll over up to $550 of any unused amount in the Healthcare FSA funds at the end of the plan year (4/30/2022)
  • These programs require an election each year, so if you want to continue your coverage and/or elect for the first time, you need to do so through Employee Navigator

 Life and Short Term Disability – The Hartford:

  • The Hartford will be your new Basic Life/AD&D, Short Term Disability, and Voluntary Life/AD&D carrier
  • If you are currently enrolled in Voluntary Life/AD&D with SunLife, your enrollment will carry over
  • If you have moved to a new age band, your costs may increase
  • Your enrollment may pend for the completion of an Evidence of Insurability (EOI) form and will only become active when and if the Evidence of Insurability form is approved
  • Ability Assist Counseling with Health Champion Healthcare Support, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available at no cost

 Voluntary Products – The Hartford

  • The Hartford will be your new carrier for Voluntary Critical Illness and Voluntary Accident
  • The Voluntary Cancer Insurance through SunLife will no longer be offered; if you would like to enroll in a similar program, The Hartford’s Voluntary Critical Illness program has a cancer benefit
  • It has a benefit for other conditions such as: end-stage renal failure, heart attack, major organ failure, stroke, coma, coronary artery disease, and more
  • There are no pre-existing conditions exclusions
  • You will need to make an election in order to be enrolled, even if you were previously enrolled in the voluntary products offered by SunLife

How To Enroll

Action Required

Employees must go to the Employee Navigator for Open Enrollment. You should carefully consider your Open Enrollment decision as this is the only time you are allowed to change your benefit elections without a qualifying life event. Your decisions will remain in effect for the entire plan year (May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022) unless you experience a qualifying life event.


Make sure your dependent and beneficiary information is up-to-date. All elections must be completed by Friday, April 23rd to ensure your enrollments are processed as soon as possible for the May 1st effective date.
